The short version
The free calculator sends nothing to us — it runs in your browser and we do not store your figures. If you buy TrueCost Pro and sign in, we store your email address, optional name and business name, and the shipment projects you choose to save. Your projects are readable only by your own account.
What we collect
- Account data: your email address, and the name and business name you choose to enter.
- Shipment data: the projects, products, rates, charges and actuals you save in TrueCost Pro.
- Purchase data: a record that a purchase was confirmed for your email address, plus the payment processor's session, customer and payment references, and whether access was later revoked after a refund. We never see or store your card details.
- Messages you send us: the name, email address, topic and message text you submit through the contact form, which is emailed to our support inbox.
- Technical data: standard server and error logs, including IP address and browser details, used to keep the service working, to detect abuse and to rate-limit the contact form. Our hosting platform also records aggregate visit analytics for the website.
What we do not collect
- Card numbers or bank details — payment is handled entirely by Stripe.
- Figures you enter into the free calculator.
- Advertising profiles, and we do not sell your data or run advertising cookies.
Who can read your data
Access rules are enforced in the database itself: every shipment, product and charge row is tied to your user account and only your account can read or change it. Our operators can access data only where necessary to fix a fault or comply with the law.
Processors we use
- Lovable Cloud (hosting) and Supabase (database and authentication), to run the application, sign you in and store your projects.
- Stripe, to take payment and confirm or reverse it.
- Resend, to send transactional email: sign-in links, purchase confirmations and replies relating to messages you send us.
How long we keep it
Account and project data is kept while your account exists, and is deleted on request. Purchase and entitlement records are kept as long as required for accounting and tax purposes. Contact messages are kept in our support inbox for as long as needed to handle your enquiry. Server and error logs are short-lived and retained by our hosting and database providers under their own retention periods.
Your rights
You can export your projects to CSV at any time, correct your details on your account page, and ask us to delete your account and data by writing to us. We will confirm deletion in writing. Depending on where you live you may also have rights to access, correct, restrict or object to our use of your data.
Cookies and storage
We use only what is needed to keep you signed in and to remember your session, stored in your browser by our authentication provider. Our hosting platform may set its own operational cookies for aggregate analytics. There are no advertising cookies.
